Where do we get our gowns?
Like gowns purchased from a bridal boutique, most of our gowns are genuine designer gowns purchased directly from the designers. Our designer gowns are limited in quantity and sizes.
Due to popular demand and requests for more size availabilities, we also carry our own label. This allows us to offer some styles in all sizes and colors. |
Do you have more than one of the same gown?
Our gowns are all designer closeouts and we only have a small handful of each style. Once they're sold out, they're gone. Most cannot be reordered.
If you have found the gown of your dreams, we highly recommend acting fast to secure it because it may be gone tomorrow. |
Can you get this gown in another size or color?
Our gowns are all designer closeouts and we only have a small handful of each style. Once they're sold out, they're gone. Most cannot be reordered.
However, with thousands of gowns in stock, not all of them are listed on our website. We may have the size or color you need.
To find a gown in another size or color, please e-mail us at info@theperfectgowns.com. Please include the item number you are inquiring about and the size and color you need. If you do not know what size you need, please include your measurements. |
What about the quality of the gowns?
We handpick a small group of designers who offer high quality gowns at affordable prices. These popular designers have offered excellent service and products to us for many years.
We are also very proud to offer our own label. Because it is our own label, we have control of the design variations and quality control of the factory.
Each of our gowns goes through a thorough 5 step inspection prior to leaving our warehouse. |
Why should you buy a gown from us?
We realize there are many companies for you to choose from. We hope our commitment to customer service, quality gowns and great prices will stand out from the rest of the crowd. Please read what our customers have to say here. |
Does the gown have a bustle for dancing/the reception? Unless specified, most gowns do not come bustled. The bustling is normally done along with the alterations and customized to the brides' height and preference of the type of bustle. |
Does the gown have a detachable train?
Unless specified, the gown has an attached train. A seamstress can put in a bustle for you so you don’t step on your beautiful train (see above). |
Are the gowns used or worn?
Unless specified (in our samples category), all of our gowns are brand new with tags. They have never been worn and they are all in pristine condition. |
How can we sell our gowns so cheap?
Brick and mortar stores incur a ton of overhead costs. They pay high rents, employ sales people to service every bride who walks through the door, and they also must incur loss from sample inventory.
Being an internet based company; we are able to elude most of those costs. This allows us to pass the savings onto our brides. |
Are the gowns floor samples?
Unless specified (in our samples category), none of our gowns are floor samples nor have they been altered. We do not own a retail shop; therefore, do not have any floor samples to sell. |

What Size Wedding Gown Should You Purchase?
One of the most important things about ordering your bridal gown is the fit. Bridal gowns run smaller than regular dresses and the measurements for the same size may vary by designer. Rather than use one generic measurements chart, we give you the actual measurements of each gown per the designer.
You may notice the same size gown showing different measurements; this is because the gowns are made by different designers. Each designer uses their own size chart. You can’t assume a size 10 gown from designer “A” will fit the same way as a size 10 gown from designer “B”.
To ensure proper fit and to avoid returns, we recommend having your measurements taken by a seamstress. Please use your measurements and cross-reference them with the measurements we provide for each of our gowns.
Please keep in mind, bridal gowns are fitted garments; therefore, it is unlikely you will find a gown to match your exact measurements. The key is to match the gown measurements as close to yours as possible.
Most gowns will need some alteration for proper fit. They normally have a 2” seam allowance (1” on each side); thus, gowns can usually be taken in at least 1-2 sizes and out 1” to 1.5”.
We offer a wide range of plus size wedding gowns and plus size wedding dresses, therefore it is important to be correctly sized for perfect fit. |
|
Bust: This is NOT your bra size. This is the measurement around your chest at the fullest part of your breasts. While being measured, your arms should be at your side and relaxed.
Hips: This is the measurement at the fullest part of your hips. Find your hip bones and measure there.
|
|
Waist (also know as “natural waist”): Around the narrowest part of your stomach above your hips.
Hollow to Hem: Find the hollow at the base of your throat. Looking straight ahead, measure straight down to where you want the hem of the dress to fall.

A good seamstress can do wonders and so can a good corset. Bows and sleeves can be removed or added and so can straps.
An additional crinoline can be worn for a fuller looking skirt. Crinolines are available in many different styles and fullness. Built in netting can also be removed if a smaller skirt is desired.
We recommend using a cloth measuring tape for accuracy. We do not advise measuring yourself. It is best to wear the undergarment and shoes you will wear with your gown when measuring.
